Cyber Security Awareness Month is an internationally recognized campaign held each October to inform the public of the importance of cyber security. This campaign is focused on helping all citizens be more secure online and knowing the steps to take to protect themselves.
Help make a difference in cyber security
Cyber defence is a team effort. Government, industry and post-secondary institutions must all work together so we can strengthen our resiliency against those cyber threats. We must continue to build a community where sharing is the default and where we prioritize the security of all of our systems.
The N.B. and P.E.I. Educational Computer Network Consortium (ECN) have made cyber security a top priority in their strategic plan. Great collaboration and several joint projects in cyber security have developed but one recent example on how we are working together is the upcoming ECN Technical Workshop where IT professionals from all ECN member institutions will participate in a training session focusing on Microsoft O365 Security.
I encourage all IT leaders to make a difference. Help promote cyber security!
